Photo-Comic is a narrative genre close to comics. The structure is the same. The only thing that’s changing is that instead of drawings, the comics strips are made with photos.

The light magician

The light magician

Nowadays we are surrounded by the digital and pixels. Virtuality and reality have never been so close. The photographer makes the distinction between the two. FIlmmakers and photographers are light and shadow sculptors. The chief cameraman is essential in the end product of a film. During this workshop, we will study Henri Alekan, who was a director of photography for many directors (Cocteau, Hitchcock, Wenders). The studio Harcourt were inspired by its work. The students photos will be assessed during the exhibition thanks to a form.

By choosing a photo, young people have to speak their minds, to express themselves, it helps them to sharpen their critical mind and boost their confidence. Following how the seed grows in a garden or in a class helps create awareness about the circle of life.

Photography and exhibition

This workshop aims to show the artistic approach of a photographer, the setting up of an exhibition and to give access to young people to culture, by questioning their artistic sensitivity.

In collaboration with a teacher, whose programme is in accordance with the exhibition, the workshop will take place in two stages: first the visit and then a playful workshop to create something based on what you saw.

Beyond gender

The notion of gender has undergone many changes since the feminist movements of the 70s. The issues around gender stereotypes and discriminations made a come back in social debates. Many gender related movements are publicised.

This subject is barely invested by modern artists and especially photographers.  The general public and young generations have few access to gender related piece of arts. First, during this workshop, we will theorize the subject and discover Dorothée Smith artistic approach. After we gain the keys to understanding the creation of a collective piece of art, we will put in place a creative workshop.
